Joining Tuesday Topics again this week! Today’s topic was a little tougher than I had thought it would be – 3 Stores. I used to be quite the shopper. Then we tightened the purse strings and started trying to get our finances in order and I cut way back. So now my shopping usually is simply for the necessities - food, clothes for the littles, household fix-it stuff, etc.
So my list is a mixture of where I shop now and where I would shop if I had the time and money to go a little wild! Here it is:
1. Meijer. This is a local superstore – headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan and with stores in Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois (maybe Ohio, but I’m not sure!). We currently drive about a half hour to our closest Meijer or stop if we are passing one on our way home from somewhere. We are really excited there is a Meijer being built in our town! They have cleared the ground and should be starting construction as soon as the weather allows. We love that Meijer is one-stop shopping with everything from groceries, to household items, to pet supplies, to clothes. They also have great sales and offer an online coupon clipping program. I simply go online, log in, click the coupons I want, then enter in my phone number and pin number at checkout. No having to remember my coupons, or spend hours clipping them from the Sunday flyers.
2. Barnes and Noble. I am a huge reader, although I have far less time to read than I used to. I love book stores, especially Barnes and Noble. I own a Nook, rather than a Kindle, mostly because I am a Barnes and Noble kind of gal. I could browse through the store for hours. I like to pick up the books, read the backs, flip through them, and I have to admit, smell them. I love the smell of new books. I love that my kids think it is fun to go to the bookstore and they actually get really excited if I tell them we are going there. We visit fairly often because it is the meeting place half way between our house and my in-laws house, so when they watch the boys we often meet there and exchange the kiddos.
3. Target. Target has everything. I can get make-up, a dress to wear out, and undies; then I can walk across the store and get a garden hose; then I can find cute kids plates. The only problem I have with Target is finding too much I “need.” I love the dollar spot they have when you first come in the store. I usually am at about $10 before I even get past there. The dollar spot has great kids goodies like books, bowls, and socks; they have fun office supplies like pencils and notepads; and cute home decor items like signs and little metal buckets. Some of my favorite clothing basics are from Target – my favorite basic v-neck tee is from the Mossimo line there and I have it in about a half dozen colors. I also have quite a few tanks and camis from there. We always end up getting some new Christmas decor from Target every year and almost all of our kids plates and silverware are from there.
What are your favorite stores?

Oh Target. That place should be cutting me a check for the amount of time I’ve devoted to them on my blog;) Is there really a better store? One stop shopping at its best.
I guess if I’d have to pick 2 others (and then pretend I had money) I’d say I love Anthropologie (although I can’t even to bring myself to buy something in the sale room) and LuLu Lemon- again too expensive. Oh and I own like 25 Mossimo ribbed tank tops- best ever!

I know – I LOVE Target! I love the v-neck and scoop neck tees from Mossimo. They are really lightweight and soft. Perfect for layering in fall through spring and perfect by themselves in the hot summer months! And I love when they go on sale for $5 or $6 and you can get a coupon online for another couple bucks off! I print the coupons from every computer I can and then send my hubby to use some so I can stock up! Haha!
